About
Hi, I'm Allison!
I'm a Registered Nurse in Durango, Colorado. After working as a Nurse in the U.S. Army for 20 years and as an in-patient Case Manager for 10+ years at a regional hospital, I decided to transform my nursing practice to focus more on the wellness of the whole person.
For years I watched people leave appointments with a diagnosis and a prescription, but not much room to talk about what was actually going on in their lives. Coaching is the part of nursing I always wanted more of. I've realized that human connection and providing a non-judgmental space for you to grow is vital for you to create change and live a healthy and happy life.
I combine my knowledge as a RN with the science of holistic health and wellness coaching to provide client-centered care in order to help you make positive lifestyle changes — that could be in:
- Living with stress and anxiety
- Living with chronic illness
- Mindfulness
- Poor sleep and low energy
- Reconnecting with goals and values
Working with me is mostly a conversation. I ask questions, and I listen to the answers. We look at the whole picture: how you sleep, what you eat, where your time goes, what you believe about yourself, and who is around you. Then we pick one or two things to change and see how they hold.

Services
Coaching for the whole of your life, not one corner of it.
Health does not live in one place. How you sleep, what you believe, who you spend time with, and how you feel in your own body all pull on each other. Holistic nurse coaching looks at all of it, and then helps you change what you actually want to change.
I provide health coaching through the holistic model, focusing on mind, body, spirituality, environment, emotions, and sexuality. I use guided inquiry, reflection, mindfulness practices, yoga / mindful movement, and visualization to help the client make lasting lifestyle changes.
The six dimensions we work with

Meaning and connection, whatever those mean to you.

Your home, your work, and the people and places around you.

FAQ
Questions people ask before they get in touch
What is a holistic nurse coach?
A holistic nurse coach is a nurse who uses coaching skills, not clinical treatment, to help you make lasting changes in how you live. We look at your whole life, not one symptom. A doctor diagnoses and treats. A therapist works with mental health conditions. A coach helps you decide what you want to change and supports you while you do it.
Is this therapy?
No. Holistic nurse coaching is not psychotherapy, medical care, or a substitute for treatment from your physician or mental health provider. Coaching does not diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric conditions. Many clients work with a therapist or doctor alongside coaching, and that is a good combination. If you are in crisis or thinking of suicide, call or text 988.
Do you take insurance?
No. I currently do not take insurance. Sessions are paid directly. If you have questions about cost, ask on the free intro call and I will answer them directly, before you commit to anything.
How long do people usually work with you?
It depends on what you are working on. Some people come for a few sessions to get unstuck on one thing. Others meet every couple of weeks for several months while a bigger change settles in. There is no set program and no minimum commitment. We decide the pace together and adjust as we go.
Do you meet in person or online?
Both. I meet clients in person in Durango, Colorado, and by video for anyone who prefers it or lives farther out. Most people settle into one format, but you can switch when life calls for it. Choose the format you prefer on the contact form, or say you are open to either.
Who do you work with?
Adults between about 25 and 65 who are experiencing high levels of stress and/or moderate anxiety. I also work with people navigating chronic illness, experiencing low energy and/or poor sleep, and those interested in adding mindfulness practices to their daily life. I also work with children under 12, together with a parent. I do not work with teenagers.
What happens in a first session?
Mostly, we talk. I will ask about what brought you here, what a good day looks like, and what has and has not worked before. We conduct a full holistic health assessment diving deep into the six areas of the holistic health model. By the end, you will have one or two small, specific things to try before we meet again.
